As a product, a bottle of wine looks good, aesthetically pleasing. The wine’s colour and label design really give people a feel for the contents. Subconsciously they tell a story about the winemaker and the market/lifestyle they’re selling to.
This is why when wine producer Immersus Emergo came to us for a website we decided on a similar look. Good design makes use of contrast to make content stand out, and the look of a bottle of red with a light coloured label provides a perfect way to highlight Immersus’s products. It’s also a very neat way to separate the information on each page of the site.
The home page is topped with a scrolling banner with warm, evocative images, the Immersus Emergo logo appears in front of this and a neat navigation bar gets visitors to the information they need quickly. The ‘wine label’ on every page features illustrated calls-to-action (product photos) to encourage people to check out the various wines available (clicking on a bottle takes you to a dedicated page for that particular wine).
We don’t flood visitors with info on the homepage. There’s some brief, effective copy introducing the firm and their latest news appears alongside – embedded updates appear from the main news page on the site. Other pages add the information – one page details the region, another encourages visitors to the area with embedded videos, and the ‘about us’ page emphasis the professional, family run nature of the business by introducing the key players with quotes, photos and signatures.
The overall look of the site owes much to a careful choice of subtle graphics to put behind the text and characterful fonts to give that honed, vintage wine bottle feel. Pitching the firm perfectly for core customers.
With everything set up for pitching the firm to visitors, all that was left was to provide a contact form and optimize things for attracting the audience. The footer on each page features contact details for quick engagement with prospects and also a sitemap, which makes a website popular with search engines as they crawl them.
Immersus Emergo can now let their story and product do the talking. They’ll soon be hearing from interested and well informed prospects.
